Here I discuss theology and national events from a distinctly Reformed Christian and conservative Libertarian political perspective. I believe the best government is the least amount of government. I believe the State exists along the narrow function of protection against force, theft, fraud, enforcement of contracts and so on. Any more of an extensive state will violate persons’ rights and is hence unwarranted.

The Day I Met Paige Patterson
Having spent most of my life outside of Southern Baptist circles, I never heard of Paige Paterson before I heard him speak for the first time in the spring of 2008. I will be honest, it was very difficult to understand him, since I had never heard his particular west Texas dialect. It took me several mandatory chapel services to begin to decipher him but when I did, I realized he was articulating a fiercely fundamentalist and Arminian version of Evangelical theology. Being a dedicated Calvinist, I did not like this, but I decided to bite my tongue....
